Custom Closets and Storage Solutions in Sudbury

Most closets are a rod and a shelf, which is a reasonable solution to roughly a third of what people actually need to store. The rest — folded clothes, shoes, luggage, out-of-season coats, the vacuum — ends up wherever there’s room.

A designed closet fixes that by starting from an inventory of what’s going in it rather than from a standard layout.

Walk-in closets

A walk-in has enough volume to be planned properly. We work out the ratio of long hanging to double hanging to drawers and shelving based on what you own, then build to it.

Typical elements:

  • Double hanging for shirts and folded trousers, which nearly doubles the capacity of the same wall
  • Long hanging for coats and dresses
  • Drawer banks built in, so you don’t need a dresser taking up bedroom floor space
  • Adjustable shelving for shoes and folded items, so the layout can change as your wardrobe does
  • A bench or island if the footprint allows it
  • Valet rods, tie and belt racks, hampers where they’re useful

Reach-in closets and wardrobes

A standard reach-in closet is usually the biggest easy win in a house. Replacing a single rod and shelf with a proper fitted interior — double hanging on one side, drawers and shelves on the other — routinely doubles usable capacity in the same opening, for a fraction of what a walk-in renovation costs.

For bedrooms without a built-in closet at all, we build freestanding wardrobes and fitted wall units to suit the room.

Beyond bedrooms

Storage isn’t only about clothes. We regularly build:

  • Wall units and entertainment centres, from living room to basement
  • Home office cabinetry — desks, upper storage, file drawers, printer cabinets
  • Floating shelves, made to the length you need rather than cut down from stock
  • Storage rooms and utility shelving — the unglamorous stuff that makes a basement usable
  • Built-in benches with storage underneath
  • Bars for a basement or rec room

If you have an idea for a space, bring it. Most of what we build started as someone describing a problem.

Materials built for the job

Closet and storage interiors take a lot of abuse from hangers, shoes and boxes. Melamine and laminate panels are the practical choice here — hard-wearing, easy to clean, and available in a wide range of colours and textures, including woodgrains that read as far more expensive than they are.

Where a closet is visible from a bedroom and you want it to look like part of the room, we can build doors and fronts in painted MDF, in a wide range of colours from the Benjamin Moore catalogue, or in stain across a range of wood species.

We build frameless, which is particularly worth having in a closet — no face frame means the full interior width is usable, and in storage that’s the whole point.

How it works

Free consultation and measurements, a preliminary drawing at no cost, then 3D colour renderings before you commit. Finish selection from real samples in the showroom. We coordinate installation with you once the unit is built.

Start your closet

Take photos of the space and, if you can, a rough count of what’s going in it — how many long-hanging garments, how many pairs of shoes, how much folded. That one piece of information changes the design more than anything else.
